MOUNTAIN TREK GTX - Graphite/Orange

Best boot for a high country, off the trail, bushwhack, mountain bashing, rock scrambling style of hunting!
Recently used these on a 16 day stone sheep hunt in B.C . Boots stayed dry through 50+ creek crossing (with gaiters). They perform really well on shale side hills and steep slippery terrain where you need to kick your feet into the mountain side to get a footing. The stiffness of the boot is ideal. With heavy 100+ Lb packs on the way out the boots carried the load and the stiffness really helps prevent any twisting or ankle rolling on off camber uneven terrain when the successful head down slog back to the truck begins.
16 days, 150+ KM of no blisters, comfy and dry feet.

Awesome looking boots . have not worn them yet . they seem very well constructed.. quite stiff.. hopin they loosen up a bit after wearing them for awhile

I have a few pair of Zamerblans and a few more in our household. Sizing has been consistent but I was very disappointed in the Vibram on these Mountain Trek’s. The rubber is very hard and makes it slippery when wet on rocks where the softer Vibram is more forgiving. Also other competitors have better hardware for lacing and had I not worn these boots I would have looked at returning them.

The Good! - Very Nice Shoes, Absolutely LOVE the designs.
The Bad! - ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SERVICE!! Pray you dont need to make a return.
The UGLY! - Does not provide anything in a Wide which makes it very difficult to find a pair that fits well. Their Size Chart is absolutely WRONG! I wear a size 9 wide. A size 10 slides on my heel. A size 9 was too tight. My foot measured 10.25" by your method which would be a size 8 in US mens. That is terribly wrong!

Excellent boots. My second pair. I’ve been wearing another Italian brand for 30 + years and these are absolutely the best in their class. Don’t stop making them. Everyone asks about them.
Btw, I’ve been trying to get extra orange graphite laces for close to a year. Hopefully some day 🤷‍♂️

Great boot, high quality boot.

Been wearing mountain boots for 50+ years. I’m very impressed by these ( appropriately named) Mountain trek boots. Hopefully the resoling process will go well in the near future, as soles are much thinner these days. Absolutely top notch boots though. Doesn’t get better

10 out of 10 the only thing I’d like to see different is make options for different types of insoles you can get when you purchase the boot

Work exactly as I had hoped. Stiff soles allow me to work at heights for hours with little to no discomfort.

Great boot for what i need it for

Was turned onto this boot from the recommendation of a professional guide, but was sold by Greg McHale's review. Break-in is a process given the structure. Regardless, these boots were comfortable from the beginning even if I didn't let myself get too far out until I had a good break-in. I've never had a boot that was so high-performance and durable yet at the same time so off-the-charts comfortable. The double-tongue system is genius. I figured out I could sock up and pull the tongue out for volume on cold days, which made the lack of insulation not only tolerable but desirable as I can use this boot year-round, hot or cold. I would say this boot is best for steep elevation, cross-hilling, and rocky areas. If you are serious about mountain hunting, you need to buy these boots, they are easily the best on the market.

I ordered these boots only to find they run a bit narrow. The length was good but the toe box was too tight. Great costumer service.

Overall they appear to be a fantastic boot. Build quality seems excellent. Have approx 30km on them now and can feel them getting better each hike as the break in continues. One and only concern is the outer heel area where the orange material meets the center loop. The back and forth of hiking has already worn through an area of the orange fabric. I have concerns for the longevity and waterproof capabilities off the boot if that material continues to be compromised. It would be a 5 star review if not for this wear so soon into a new pair of boots.

A mid rise stiff-soled boot suitable for rocky terrain. The ankle support is firm while the materials / construction is very durable. One note to be aware of that regular sizes fit slightly narrow. Great boot for heavy loads and long hikes.

These boots are beyond beautiful and they offer superb protection, they have a snug fit, almost like a molded fit. They shine in action on rough terrain and with snow shoes.

What I didn't like is that they aren't effective on ice (rocks with ice on them) I was unpleasantly surprised (my gold standard is Alfa shoes for grip on all surfaces). These boots are incredibly stiff as well, first hike felt like I was walking with ski boots, I have to say that once you start climbing and the action starts the stiffness is welcome because they offer great stability and protection. These boots would benefit with a dual Boa system or a dual zone pull lace ( à la Salomon ).

They offer superb heat retention and aren't affected in cold conditions so far (-24°c).

well worth the money, great set of boots

The boots were exactly what I was looking for. A boot that can be hiked in with a backpack and then provide the stiffness needed for extensive ascents and descents in extreme terrain(scree, drainages, etc) while
providing comfort and support. The soles provide just enough flex to prevent rolling/boarding on river
rocks.

Very solid quality boot. I like my zamberlans for sure.

I have done 2 steep hikes in these boots, both in deep snow. There is just enough give in the sole to make hiking flat terrain comfortable and rigid enough for the steep pitches. Very durable boot. Taken though a lot of mud and snow and they still look relatively new. They did a great job of holding my heel in place.
